Baseball Camp

Westminster Academy’s Summer Baseball Camp offers excellent instruction in a safe, fun, and competitive environment to players of all ages and ability levels. Players will be divided into small groups based on age and ability, thus ensuring personalized and individualized instruction.

The camp will cover the following areas:

  • Hitting (rotational vs. linear)
  • Fielding (footwork, arm action)
  • Pitching (full mechanical analysis)
  • Base Running (leads, jumps, angles)
  • Conditional/Strength Training
  • Injury Prevention/Arm Care

Baseball Camp Information

  • Open to children ages 5 to 14
  • Session 1: June 17th – June 21st (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) $225
  • Sibling Discount: $30 off

Camp Location and Facility

Baseball Camp will take place at Westminster Academy’s state-of-the-art west campus Athletic Complex in Lauderdale Lakes. This baseball facility is widely considered to be one of the top high school baseball facilities in the nation. It offers two high school fields, six full batting cages,  three professional bullpen mounds, along with a locker room and clubhouse. Coach Ernie Gonzalez, baseball camp director and newly hired Head Baseball Coach at WA, has been coaching baseball throughout the South Florida community the last 15 years.  A graduate of LaSalle High School, he played baseball for Coach Rick Cruz and for Coach Oscar Benitez.  He has coached youth baseball in Miami, developed and managed the South Florida Snappers Baseball Academy where he coached current Chicago Cubs Outfielder Albert Almora.  He began his high school coaching career at Gulliver Prep in 2007 and continued his high school baseball coaching jobs at Doral Academy and Mater Lakes Academy.  For the past six years he has run the Baseline Baseball program and currently is the owner of the Scorpions Baseball Club.
