BASEBALL CAMP
Camp Location and Facility
Baseball Camp will take place at Westminster Academy’s state-of-the-art west campus Athletic Complex located at 3701 NW 44 Street, Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. This baseball facility is widely considered one of the nation’s top high school baseball facilities. It offers two high school fields, six full batting cages, three professional bullpen mounds, a locker room, and a clubhouse.
The camp will cover the following areas:
- Hitting (rotational vs. linear)
- Fielding (footwork, arm action)
- Pitching (full mechanical analysis)
- Baserunning (leads, jumps, angles)
- Conditioning/Strength Training
- Injury Prevention/Arm Care
Staff
Head WA Baseball Coach Ernie Gonzalez will run the WA Baseball camp. Coach Gonzalez has been coaching baseball in South Florida for nearly 20 years. He was selected to coach the Dade County All-Star team during the 2010 season and also coached the USA Baseball South Florida NTIS 14U team during the summer trials in 2013. He was recently named the Broward County Coach of the Year for the 2023 season, leading the Lions to their first state final-four appearance in 23 years. Coach Gonzalez is also heavily involved in youth baseball throughout the community. He has assisted many players throughout their development, leading them to play collegiate baseball.
Other WA Baseball coaches and current WA Baseball players will assist Coach Gonzalez.
- Session I runs from June 10 to June 14 | $250
- Session II runs from June 17 to June 21 | $250
- Session III runs from June 24 to June 28 | $250
Sessions will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
